Blepharoplasty (surgery of the eyelids):

Blepharoplasty corrects droopy eyelids, wrinkling, puffiness and bags under the eyes that make one look worn and tired. Blepharoplasty is often performed as a single outpatient procedure. In upper eye blepharoplasty an incision is made and a laser may be used to treat the puffy regions that create a tired appearance. Fine sutures are used to close the incision, thereby minimizing the visibility of scarring. In the lower eyelid, an incision is made with the laser behind the eyelid so there is no visible incision on the skin. This also allows Dr. Rodgers to treat the eyelid skin with the laser to maximize the results on the lower eyelids and the crow’s feet area.

To determine if a patient is a good candidate for blepharoplasty, Dr. Rodgers recommends a consultation utilizing the computerized imager and a complete facial analysis. Successful facial plastic surgery is the result of a good rapport between the patient and the surgeon. Trust, based on realistic expectations and exacting medical expertise, develops in the consulting stages before surgery
